Nothing important. Every automation runs on your hub, which sits inside your network. Lights, locks, climate, cameras, dashboards, all still work without an internet connection. You lose remote access temporarily until internet is back, and that's it.
Almost always. Home Assistant integrates with thousands of brands across every major standard, including Zigbee, Z-Wave, Matter, Thread and ordinary Wi-Fi, so most lighting, climate, camera, lock and solar gear can be brought in rather than thrown out. Send us a list of what you own and we'll confirm before you spend anything. If something genuinely won't talk to anything, we'll say so up front.
Yes! We can configure secure remote access so you can monitor and control your system from anywhere in the world via smartphone, tablet, or computer. This is entirely optional and set up with your security and privacy preferences in mind.
Absolutely! We set up a local voice assistant that runs entirely on your property, no cloud servers, no recordings sent to data companies, complete privacy. You can control lights, climate, scenes, music, and more using natural voice commands.
When power returns, your system automatically restarts and resumes normal operation within 2–5 minutes. All your automations, settings, and schedules remain intact. For critical systems (security & elderly care), we can add battery backup (UPS) to keep everything running during short outages.
Absolutely, and it's one of Home Assistant's biggest advantages. Most customers start with one area — smart lighting, or security — and add more over time. Once the foundation is in place, extending the system later costs far less than starting fresh, because the hub, the network and the wiring are already there.
We take data privacy seriously. This is why we use Home Assistant: Everything runs locally on your property, no cloud servers required, and you can use them only if you choose to. Your data never leaves your home unless you explicitly give a token to a 3rd party running cloud services, which is totally your choice. You own and control 100% of your data and devices. We can configure the system for complete offline operation.
